The Finery, we use a variety of cutting edge lasers to create the most effective removal treatment plan for every type, location, and color of tattoo.
One of our go-to lasers is the Candela PicoWay, which features three wavelengths (1064 nm, 785 nm, and 532 nm) and both Resolve and full-beam capabilities. This laser effectively breaks up ink into tiny particles that are easily passed out of the body through the lymphatic system with minimal damage to surrounding tissues. With its dominant 1064 and 532 wavelengths (the wavelength that a laser platform produces out of the armature without the use of dye packs or handpieces), the PicoWay is especially effective at treating resistant red and black ink.
The PicoWay uses a unique action mode that delivers extremely short picosecond pulses of energy to the tissue. These burst of energy, which are one-trillionth of a second, create what is called a photoacoustic impact that effectively breaks up ink pigmentation into tiny particles that are naturally eliminated through the body’s system.
It depends. The PicoWay is especially effective at treating tattoos with black, red, or certain shades of green ink and can remove these colors in far fewer treatments sessions than other lasers. In the case of tattoos that also contain blue, purple, or green ink, other lasers such as the PicoSure will probably be used as this laser is better at treating those resistant colors.
This depends on the size, location, and color of your tattoo. However, we usually find that six to eight is this the average number of sessions we want to use? treatment sessions with the PicoWay are sufficient to completely remove most tattoos.
No, these are two completely different lasers. While they both use picosecond technology, they operate at different wavelengths, which means they target certain colors differently. The PicoSure also has a longer picosecond pulse duration and requires more energy to produce a reaction. This can be helpful in treating green, purple, and blue ink, but not as useful in treating black or red ink. Both lasers certainly have their uses, which is why we have both at The Finery and often use both types of technology on one tattoo.
Yes. The PicoWay laser is FDA approved and through many trials, it has proven to cause less damage to tissue than any other laser on the market. The speed of the laser breaks up ink particles more effectively than any other type of technology and allows the lymphatic system to safely pass these particles out of the system.
With its ultra-fast pulses, the PicoWay uses far less heat than other tattoo removal lasers, making for a more comfortable removal experience. Though you will likely feel some discomfort during your tattoo removal, it will be minimized by using the PicoWay. You will also experience less downtime with a PicoWay treatment than with other lasers on the market.
Yes. Click here to see before and after pictures of those treated at The Finery with a PicoWay laser. You can also see testimonials here from our clients who have had tattoos removed using this technology. Keep in mind that the majority of these clients were treated using more than one type of laser. As mentioned above, The Finery has multiple lasers that work differently depending on the type, location, and color of the tattoo as well as the client’s skin type. We will always use the laser or combination of lasers that we believe will remove your tattoo in the fewest number of treatments and with the least amount of tissue damage possible.
